Function	May function as linker between cellular membranes and the actin cytoskeleton. Required for normal development of fruiting bodies.
Subcellular location	Nucleus membrane; Single-pass type IV membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side. Endoplasmic reticulum membrane. Golgi apparatus › Golgi stack membrane. Centrosome. Cytoplasm › cytoskeleton. Note= The largest part of the protein is cytoplasmic, while its C-terminal part is associated either with the nuclear envelope, the Golgi membrane or the endoplasmic reticulum membrane.
Developmental stage	Present at very low levels during early stages of development. Levels increase during late aggregation stage, reach a maximum and remain high during culmination and maturation of the fruiting body. Detected in upper and lower cup structures in late culminants and mature fruiting bodies (at protein level). First detected after 12 hours of development. Highly expressed at 12 to 16 hours of development. Levels return to basal levels during maturation of the fruiting body.
Induction	Up-regulated by cAMP.
Miscellaneous	Cells lacking abpD have reduced efficiency in fruiting body formation and reduced spore viability.
